Living in modern world we have no choice but to buy to satisfy our needs. That is why another instance of us - Entrepreneurs, Manufacturers, Distributors, Retailers and other similar armies compete for our dollars.


In fact we are in the state of war with them. Buy! - they say us on TV, buy! - screams radio, New! - flashes newspaper and the Internet invents more tricks to entice us into purchase relationship.

The selling army is not on its own! They are supported by marketing, advertising, statistics and global politics. Think about this paradox: the more we buy the better we live - they say!

Is it true?

The more we buy the more hours we have to work, the less time we spend with the loved ones, the more tired we become. As for the happiness - it is diminishing.

Strong weapons of consumers

Product knowledge can be an important weapon of a consumers. The more we know about products, their features, applications - the more efficient our dollars will work, the more satisfaction we will get.


The problem we face is fast widening range of consumer products and services and deepening of their variety.

Take a mobile phone for example. Each time time comes to purchase new mobile - I am panicking. there is no way most of us can select a proper model, plan etc because number of variations is endless!

There is only way to handle this enormity: learn about consumer products consistently.

There are several ways to keep up with new information:

  • Before committing to purchase - find online reviews
  • Listen to other people experiences
  • Visit consumer fairs in your town

Plenty of online reviews are published on the Internet. You have to be careful and question the intention of the author: is it objective?

In some cases competitors will pay for "objective" review that exposes the weakness of the seller from another camp. Good for you! Just do not fall in some "alternatives" offered.

Other people experiences

Invaluable! Just learn how to listen. People tell stories every day how they were buying cameras, houses, repaired TVs or kitchen taps. Extract positives from these episodes.

Consumer shows
