Buying a Fridge

Before you buy a fridge

Buying a fridge or other appliances you face a problem. Practically all refrigerators are white or stainless, they look rectangular so it is very hard to select the model for you. So we recommend to split your purchasing process in 2 steps.

Learning about your fridge

As long as we rarely buy fridges in less than 8-10 years it is impossible to keep up with all new features and specifications of refrigerators.

There are no buyers courses that would educate you on that so why not to use the enemy's weapon?

We recommend to visit 1-2 expensive white goods stores. Usually they employ qualified sales people and train them on the products. When you get into such a respectable shop try to identify a good sales person. You would need someone with patience and knowledge of the product. Pretend to be a complete idiot. That will relax your opponent. Ask them simple questions about fridges first, more detailed ones - later.

Psychologically they will enjoy a feeling of superiority and will let you know all they know about fridges, washing machines or other appliances. Once you are confident you know what you have to - say thank you and leave. You wail be well educated about fridges to make a purchase on your own terms.

Buying your fridge

So you know everything about the fridges and actually decided on the model or probably have 2 or 3 models in mind. It is time to do a price check. Go to the Internet search for best buy fridge MY CITY or similar.

You will find plenty of stores that disclose their prices or even sell online. Be carefully though! We recommend to check the credentials of the store, make sure that delivery is included. (In some cases you might want to deliver a fridge yourself).

Guarantee on the fridge

Warranty on fridges is provided buy a manufacturer - not by seller. It means that there is no difference where you actually buy a fridge - it will be services (if necessary) by independent providers.

Once the fridge is installed in your kitchen - read the manual - you have only 1 chance for that. Knowing something about your your fridge will help you keep it in service longer.
